Staff Advisor: Babita Nagpal Email: babita.nagpal@basisindependent.com Student Advisor: Diya, Aditi Dates: Monday with the first meeting on 9/16 and the last on 4/28 Time: 4:15 PM–5:05 PM Grades: 9–12 Cost: $285 Description: The American Red Cross is a nonprofit organization that prevents and eases human suffering in the face of emergencies with the aid of volunteers and donors. The American Red Cross contains many departments, such as Biomedical Services, Disaster Relief, Service to Armed Forces, and International Relief. Through this organization, BASIS Independent Fremont American Red Cross Club will occur as an extension of the Bay Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, where volunteers interact with local communities and government, allowing the American Red Cross to provide all lines of services throughout the Bay Area. Along with learning emergency skills, we will also help educate our school through events and presentations. The American Red Cross Club will be involved in Red Cross events such as CPR/AED certifications, disaster preparedness, promoting measles and rubella awareness, and fire safety. CPR Certification is included in the annual membership fee.
