Description
In 1963, a huge bone was found while excavating a backyard pond! Revisit the history of this discovery by traveling by Park District bus, making two stops. Learn about the mastodon remains that were found at Perry Pond in Glen Ellyn, then visit Wheaton College for a behind-the-scenes tour to see the reassembled mastodon and to learn about the excavation and restoration of the skeleton. We will also spend time in the geology museum at the Meyer Science Center.
