Watercolours with Flora Hutterer: February Session February Session: February 4, 11, 18, 25Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30PMWith individual attention from experienced artist Flora Hutterer, learn how to use painting principles to give your picture strength and clarity. Practice painting techniques such as brush work, edge control, and colour mixing. Create and identify your painting style with additional visual guides on how to improve your painting’s finished result.
Materials not included. Participants are to bring the listed materials below to each session.
Materials List:- Good quality, cold press,140# watercolour paper. This paper type is better for learning the techniques and washes (i.e. Fabiano, Arches, etc).- A waterproof board to support your paper. Plastic, varnished wood, and plexi are board surfaces that work well.- Two plastic containers to hold water (i.e. large yogurt container size).- Watercolour paints. Bring what you have. Suggested: a minimum of (3): a Red, Yellow and Blue, such as Winsor blue, Winsor red and Winsor yellow. There are also organized paint colour palettes.- Palette: You can purchase a watercolour palette or use a White china or white ceramic plate. Butcher plates are also good.- Brushes. Bring what you have. Recommended: Flat (square shape) (1/2") one Wash Brush (2" or more) one Large round end (#10 or #12) and one pointed (#1 rigger) for fine detail.Also, a fan brush and filbert is nice to have. Please be aware that a squirrel hair brush is too soft.- Kleenex and paper towels.- HB pencil and kneaded eraser (this is an eraser that will not damage your paper).Optional: Permanent marker if needed.
