Description
Recreational JLC focuses on stroke development, swimming technique, improving endurance, and leadership abilities; all while learning lifesaving skills and knowledge. Swimmers are taught how to track their progress as we work through lifesaving and swimming skills that will prepare them for future courses. They are encouraged to set personal goals and actively work towards achieving those goals. They are also encouraged to compete in swim meets against other teams, in a variety of lifesaving events. Recreational JLC is recommended for swimmers that aren’t competitive and want to learn lifesaving skills and knowledge through games and fun activities. The main goal of JLC is to instill a love for swimming and active living while obtaining lifesaving skills and knowledge that will help them in water related situations and prepare them for future lifeguarding and leadership courses.
Prerequisite(s): Able to meet the Swim to Survive standard.
