About this event

Join us for an enriching workshop dedicated to the captivating impressionistic technique of Pointillism. Developed in 1886 as a branch of Impressionism, Pointillism, also known as Divisionism, involves applying raw, unmixed color dots directly onto the canvas. When viewed from a certain distance, these individual dots merge visually to create a cohesive and vibrant image. This unique method not only challenges the conventional mixing of colors on a palette but also enhances the viewing experience, offering a dynamic interplay of hues and shades that become more pronounced the farther you stand from the artwork. Our comprehensive class will guide you through the intricate process of Pointillism. You will learn how to patiently and precisely apply dots of pure color to construct an image, discovering the meditative rhythm that this technique can offer. This workshop is designed to be both an exercise in patience and an exploration of beauty, providing you with the tools and knowledge to create your own Pointillist masterpiece. Embrace the meticulous yet rewarding process of Pointillism, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the intricate dance of color and light that defines this art form. This class is open to all skill levels! No prior experience is necessary. All materials will be provided to you.
