Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is celebrating the 100th year of Mountain Island Lake with this Community Story Share event. We invite you and your family to Quest Nature Center on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00am to 3:00pm to take part in this community celebration. • Share your stories and fond memories of times spent in, on, or around the water.• Participate in a guided story circle or leave your thoughts on paper for others to peruse.• Delve into the origin of Mountain Island Lake and discover the historic moments of the past 100 years in Mecklenburg County. • Leave a special birthday message to the lake with your own drawings or written notes. • Witness the unveiling of a new recycled art piece. • Connect with your friends and loved ones over shared experiences.• Check out brand-new exhibit panels alongside an impressive freshwater aquarium. • Experience fun activities, create something new, and take home some free goodies!- Meet at Quest Nature Center - 6345 Sample Rd Huntersville, NC 28078
