LAST DAY TO REGISTER IF YOU NEED TO BORROW A BIKE IS 8/28. Participants can register up until 9/3 if they do not need to borrow a bike.

Indy Parks and Bike Indianapolis are hosting an Explore the Trails on your bike ride series this summer! Each event features a different trail and introduces participants to the incredible network of trails that Indianapolis has to offer! Participants ages 8 and older are encouraged to bring their own bike, however a bike may be reserved upon request during the registration process. Participants must be 14 or older to reserve a bike.

The event will begin with a cycling safety session by Bike Indianapolis and a tutorial on using the Pacers Bike Share program. Following the information session a 5 mile leisurely ride along the Pogue's Run Trail will take place. Helmets are mandatory for all participants.

This event focusing on "Glowing Paths and Historic Bridges along the trail which starts at 10th and Brookside. Participants will be able to enjoy a newly paved trail while passing noteable landmarks such as the Nowland Avenue Bridge as well as both Brookside and Spades Park(s). During the ride an official from Bike Indianapolis will be providing general safety tips as well as leading the group through the tour.

The Pacers Bike Share is a public bicycle sharing system in Indianapolis with 50 stations that are conveniently located near the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and throughout the city. It allows individuals to rent bikes for a nominal fee. More information about this program can be found at pacersbikeshare.org.

Bike Indianapolis, a nonprofit organization, promotes biking in central Indiana through advocacy, education and community outreach efforts. Their mission is to encourage more people to ride bikes thus contributing to a healthier and more sustainable community.
