An overwhelming amount of nutritional information is available on the commercial and social media. It became difficult to ascertain or determine the truth and authenticity of the messages. These commercial messages are often presented to the audience and the viewers as research supported by well-known experts or entertainment stars. Goals of the course are: A. To provide you with the scientific foundations of how your body functions through the series of physiological and biochemical processes by which the body uses nutrients of food to support its life. B. What are the daily values of each of the basic nutrients, water, sugars, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. C. What kind of information you may trust and why. D. What kind of misinformation you should avoid. No previous knowledge of biology, physiology, or anatomy required. Presented by Dr Hani Elkadi, MD. Ph.D. Fee: $120 ($90 for low income discount), pay instructor at the first session.
