North Shore Community Centre • 452 - 730 Cottonwood Avenue KamloopsBCCanada  V2B 8M6 Organized by Kamloops Adult Learners Society
Registration closed.

About this event

Kamloops is experiencing a housing affordability crisis that has significant impacts on our whole community, but what are the roots of this crisis? How has the financialization of housing impacted our ability to ensure everyone in our community has access to a home? We will highlight examples of local solutions to address the housing crisis including community-led housing and community land trusts. We will also explore a case study of Propolis Cooperative Housing Society, a new non-profit housing cooperative organization with a mandate to develop affordable, sustainable, net-zero housing in Kamloops. Propolis is in the planning process for its first housing development and recently acquired its first property using a unique community-led financing approach.
