Description
Cultivating a Natural, Loving, & Healing EnvironmentSometimes being present feels easy, comfortable, or desirable. At other times, being present feels difficult, overwhelming, painful, or exhausting. We may find ourselves being reactive, feeling stuck and caught in cycles of suffering.How can we resource ourselves when it is difficult to be mindfully present?
Throughout this six-week course, we will explore practices to access powerful qualities of mind and our “basic goodness” through ordinary life circumstances. Some themes we’ll explore include:
· stabilizing the mind/body,· recalling moments of gentle connection, and· recognizing and resting in qualities that are already with us, deep in our being.
We will use these practices as access points to reveal innate resources for creating a natural, healing environment for ourselves and, in so doing, for others.
This class is for those interested in tapping into qualities of mind including love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Having some prior experience with mindfulness or other forms of contemplative practice can be helpful. If you are new to meditation and willing to take this kind of journey within a community setting, you are welcome.
