Description
Whether you are a first-time desert explorer or a seasoned Sonoran veteran come spend your morning outside on the trails of the Tortolita Mountains with us! Guaranteed to be informative, hike alongside our knowledgeable and experienced guides as you safely discover all the wonders the Sonoran Desert has to offer. On our walk we will chat about Sonoran cactus, drought-adapted trees and shrubs, our rainy season, and a lack of freezing temperatures that result in the tremendous biotic diversity of this region. Trails will range from 2-3 miles with minimal elevation gain. Plan for 2 hours.
For your safety and comfort:
- Wear suitable hiking shoes or boots.
- Bring a snack if you tend to get hangry.
- Carry a minimum of 2 liters of water per person.
- Consider sun protection
- Bring a hiking pole if you desire.
- There are no restrooms or water stations on the trail.
- Pets are not permitted (Service animals are OK).
- Hikers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Hiking can be challenging; hikers should be aware of their physical abilities and that of their children.
