The Lassiter Color Run is back for it's fourth year on October 20, 2024 rain or shine, and promises to be bigger and better. The approximate 5K fun run/walk winds its way around the Lassiter campus and the nature trails of Harrison Park through 3 colored powder stations, followed by music, food, games, and fun for kids like inflatables and face painting. Proceeds from the event benefit the Lassiter High School Cross Country Team and Lassiter Sources of Strength, a local charity organization. Come on out for a great day of family fun at the 2024 Miles for Mental Health 5k Run.
Event details and schedule
The approximate 5k fun run/walk is not timed and getting powdered is your award; runners will start in waves. Waves will begin at 9:00 AM rain or shine at the Lassiter High School stadium and goes through 3 color powder stations along the route. Registration is $30. Run-day registration is $35. Early registration by 10/13 guarantees you a t-shirt in your size.
Packet of Tee-shirt & goodie bag is available on run day, starting at 7:30 AM, at the Lassiter stadium, or on Friday night, October 18 from 6-8pm, at the Lassiter stadium gate. There is a home football game that night. We will position ourselves outside the ticket gate for the football game so you can register or pick up your packet and t-shirt before you go into the game.
We use non-toxic, non-rash-inducing corn starch with food coloring. Participants are encouraged to wear glasses to avoid unwanted powder in your eyes and face, a bandana is useful as well.
The nature trails are beautiful but have exposed roots and rocks in places, use caution, they are not stroller friendly.
A clean station will be setup near the finish area but you will want to bring a towel for your car ride home.
All parking will be at the front of the school on Shallowford Rd. The stadium lot is under construction this year. Come prepared to get powdered! Rain or shine! After the run, enjoy food, music, games, and vendor exhibits.
