Create a table runner in this introduction to basic quilting techniques. No previous quilting experience needed. A sewing machine and basic sewing (on a sewing machine) skills are required. Instructed by Theresa Hamel.Techniques that will be taught include:1. Using a rotary cutter and cutting mat with quilt ruler. 2. Sewing an accurate, consistent ¼” seam.3. Making a quilted table runner.
Material list:1. Sewing machine, a ¼” foot is useful but not required. 2. Fabric (100% cotton): ½ yard background color, ½ yard main fabric, ¼ yard contrasting fabric. 1 yard for backing. 3. If you have it, a rotary cutter and mat. 4. If you have it, a small iron and pressing mat.
An iron and ironing board, rotary cutter and mat will be provided in the classroom.
