At ICE Firearms & Defensive Training, our Long Range Shooting School provides affordable training for the long-range rifleman. Our class is held in partnership with Bang Steel, in Wytheville, VA. We believe every American should know how to handle a rifle properly at long range. We offer the opportunity to shoot at a target at 1,000 yards. This class is great for men and women, both young and old. We operate on an "old school" mindset--which we'll explain the reasons for during the course. We love electronics but believe you DO NOT need them to learn how to shoot using your brain, eyes, and a little data. We remain concerned about the proliferation of what we call "cyber-shooting"; the dependence on electronics for long-range shot solutions. At the end of the day, we will teach you a faster--and a better way. The class schedule looks like: May 24th - classroom in Mount Airy followed by two hours on the range zeroing rifles and performance checking the scopes. We will use a local range for this. May 25th - instruction and shooting on the range at Peacemakers National Range in Gerrardstown, WV. We start with sizing and distancing targets and transition to shooting at various unknown distances. May 31st - We meet at the range for a day of shooting out to 1,000 yards. This will be the culmination of the class as we preparre for our trip to Bang Steel in August to shoot extreme long distances - out to 1.5 miles. More to follow regarding Bang Steel in the class.
