Learn to express yourself through form in our Abstract Sculpture course where we will explore some of the concepts behind non-functional, non-representational, "Abstract" ceramics. During this course, students will create freestanding, handmade pieces using sculptural techniques including coil building, pinching, form molding and slab construction. Consideration will be given to the elements and principles of art while creating contemporary works in-the-round. Demonstrations and personal feedback will be given every class to create an encouraging and supportive environment for all students. At the end of this course, you will take home finished glazed ceramic pieces ready to be enjoyed and displayed. This class is for everyone - those with ceramics experience as well as those who are completely new to the material and process. Come join the fun and get your hands dirty!
