About This Activity
Private lessons: Beginner or Intermediate 30 minute private lessons for Piano, Guitar, and Bass Guitar. We will learn the intro fundamentals to music theory and performance tailored to your child's skill level. Piano - 1st grade and up | Guitar/Bass - 3rd grade and up. Computer Music Production, 3rd to 8th: This 30 minute class will expose students to the basics of Computer Music Production. We will use different types of DAW's (Digital Audio Workstations) ex: GarageBand, Ableton, to demonstrate the capabilities of electronic music recording and sound synthesis. No prior music knowledge or theory is necessary to enjoy and learn with a DAW which is a great opportunity for those either uncomfortable or unable to learn an acoustic instrument, but still want to interact with the creative musical process. We will start with pre-made sounds and loops that engage simply with the electronic medium, similar to that of playing with Legos, and eventually leading to students using their own sounds and ideas to create their unique works. The goal is to give kids the opportunity to see how music in the 21st century is being created, recorded, and shared.
