"We plan to take Town School chess students to new heights this year, not only by increasing skill and exposure, but also by growing the team! From complete beginners to advancing tournament players, our goal is that all Town School players can experience both the joy and significant social/educational benefits of learning and playing chess. The Town School Team will prepare for local, city, state, and national competitions. Our in-person programming will match players into groups based on skill, interest level and age. This allows coaches to identify and create the right training environment for each player (complete beginner - advanced competitors). Please read more about our vision at The Town School Chess Team Webpage. Club members are expected to engage with our digital training tool, which gives players learning reinforcement to supplement the club lessons. Club members are also encouraged to represent the team at rated playing events around the city, with the support of our club coaches. We also provide onsite support for players who choose to represent the team at the State and National Championships in the spring."
