The 2024 Hustle & Strive 5K is a scenic Walk/Run adventure around the southern half of Randall's Island in support of children and youth learning, playing, exploring, and socializing outdoors in East Harlem and beyond. You can see the natural beauty of the Water’s Edge Garden with its majestic waterfront views, as well as the FLOW public art pieces, present on the Island from May through November! Finally, you’ll also pass the Randall’s Island Urban Farm, which hosts thousands of students annually. The event includes post-race snacks and beverages, awards, and music.

This Hustle & Strive 5K aims to build our community of outdoor play lovers. Here are the details:
EVENT SCHEDULE
8AM: Registration Opens
8:30AM: Opening Ceremony
9AM: And, We're Walking/Running!
10AM: Awards Ceremony Starts
Prizes and finisher medals are distributed as participants finish
Light refreshments served
12PM: Event ends
COURSE INFO: Course is out and back, so anyone coming to cheer you on can stay in one place as you take off and return to victory.
ARRIVAL INFO: Meet at flagpole just up hill near 10 Central Road on Randall’s Island.

WAIVERS & ID: Waivers are mandatory and included in each registration. Participants must show ID at check-in.
WHAT TO BRING: Positive attitude,
WHAT TO WEAR: Choose a Squad Theme and decide together what everyone will wear to reflect that theme. Watch the weather to make sure that you will be warm or cool enough to participate.
FUNDRAISING: Registration is $25. All participants must raise $100 per person or $600 per Squad of 6 by 8AM on 11/23/24 to participate in the event. All proceeds will support free after school and summer camp for children in East Harlem.
OTHER DETAILS: This event is open to all ages that can walk or run 3.1 miles (5K). Whether you are a seasoned racer, new to outdoor play, or looking for an adventure goal, to pump you up, this event is intended to give you all year to get outside, play, and train for your health, and to build a community of people who want to live an outdoor, healthy lifestyle.
