This recreation program is closed to further registration.
Bronze Cross designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certification. Includes a timed 600 m swim.
Bronze Cross is recognized as an assistant lifeguard certificate in Ontario Regulation 565 governing public swimming pools.
Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid certifications (need not be current).
Come prepared! Long hair should be tied back and off the face Infants must wear plastic pants or swim diapers under their bathing suits. No diapers please. Most levels will practice skills wearing PFDs, but do not send swimmers with personal buoyancy devices Goggles (eyes only) are permitted, but discouraged for younger swimmers One piece bathing suits are strongly advised for girls Swimmer 3 and up. Lockers are available, locks must be removed nightly. Those not removed will be cut off. Camera cell phones and cameras are not permitted in the washrooms or change-rooms Please no food or drink in the change-rooms or on the pool deck
