This easy 2.3-mile loop provides a scenic walk through orange groves while offering views of both sides of the Ventura River through the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy. We will be crossing the river at two different points, adding a bit of adventure to an otherwise gentle hike.
Distance: 2.3 miles (Loop) Difficulty: Easy (2/5) Elevation Gain: 135ftOur Senior Hiking Program is tailored to fit your needs, offering thoughtfully selected trails and routes that provide the perfect opportunity to encounter nature and observe local wildlife. These hikes are designed to accommodate a variety of fitness levels, making it easy to explore the beauty of our surroundings while engaging with the natural world. Each hike will begin and end at the Ojai Recreation Department lawn, where we’ll meet before shuttling in city vans to the trailheads. After our hike, we’ll enjoy a sweet dessert together (not included in fee), allowing time to share experiences and connect with fellow hikers.What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, Water bottle, Sunscreen and hat, Sunglasses, Light snack (if needed)Optional: Walking poles for stability, Binoculars for wildlife viewing (optional but recommended)
