Rainforests are our oldest living ecosystem, with some surviving at least 70 million years. They are an incredibly diverse home to more than half the world's plant and animal species, even though rainforests only cover six percent of the planet’s surface. Students will climb through the canopies, set expeditions through the dense vegetation and deepen their understanding of what makes up the richest destinations on Earth. Students will explore through activities such as a forest obstacle course, terrarium making, creating animal masks and more. Welcome all rangers! Programs run from 9:00am - 3:00pm, with drop-off available between 8:00 - 9:00am and prompt pick-up between 3:00 - 4:00pm. Drop-off & pick-up will take place at the front desk of the Lombard campus. There is a scheduled snack break and lunch time for all students. Each student must bring a packed lunch (with a drink) from home. Everyone must wear appropriate shoes for play and time outside (no slippers, crocs, or stuffies please).
