About this event
FIRST LEGO League Explore (FLLE) is an entry-level STEM program for elementary school-aged children interested in robotics. Each year, students have fun exploring a new science and technology topic as a team. They learn programming with a robotics set in a playful way and also create a motorized LEGO model based on the year’s theme. The educational experience focuses on the nonprofit FIRST’s core values of respectful interaction, shared experience, and critical thinking. At the end of each season, TPS’s own team, which will be comprised of club members, will gather for a weekend regional/local exhibition to present their results, share ideas, and have a great time together! Inspired by the recent success of TPS’ FIRST Lego League Challenge (FLLC) teams and the award-winning middle school robotics program, this club represents a first taste of robotics “coopertitions”. Learn more about the nonprofit FIRST and FLLE here. Matt is TPS’ Director of Educational Technology and works closely with teachers to integrate progressive technology into the classroom. Read more here! (Please note: If you choose to enroll your student in this club, please know that attendance at a Saturday/Sunday regional event in December is required.)
