Description
Taught by Sharon Russell, head gardener of SJC's courtyard garden. Classes will focus on easy-to-grow plants that will brighten up your landscape whether you deal with sun or shade. Having flowers does not have to be expensive, but planning is important. Knowing what will grow, when to plant and how to amend the soil are keys to success. In September, learn about wildflowers and native plants; in October, bulbs, tubers and rhizomes; in November, plants that can take the cold weather and how to protect those that can't; in December, winter sowing of seeds. Sharon has been gardening in Plano for over 30 years.
