SYNOPSIS: As You Like It is a pastoral comedy by William Shakespeare that centers on Rosalind, who is banished from the court by her uncle, Duke Frederick. Disguised as a young man named Ganymede, she escapes to the Forest of Arden with her cousin Celia and the fool Touchstone. In the forest, they encounter Orlando, Rosalind's love, who has also fled to escape his brother's cruelty. Rosalind, still in disguise, tests Orlando's love and teaches him about true affection. The play concludes with multiple marriages, the restoration of the rightful duke, and a joyful celebration of love and harmony. AUDITIONS: Material: 1 minute MEMORIZED monologue of your choice from the show. VIDEO AUDITIONS DUE November 13th by Midnight. Videos will be uploaded to Google Classroom. IN PERSON Auditions: Wednesday, Nov 20th, 5pm-8pm REHEARSALS: Start Date: December 4th, Wednesdays & Fridays; Time: (5:30 PM - 9:30 PM). Dec 4, Dec 6, Dec 18, Dec 20; Jan 3, Jan 8, Jan 10. Additional rehearsals are scheduled as needed for the weeks of Dec 2, 16, and Jan 1-11. **Time and dates subject to change by availability SET BUILD: Saturday, January 11th, 1 pm-4 pm. Each student & 1 parent are required to attend and stay the entire time. TECH WEEK: Sunday-Wednesday, January 12th-January 15th from 5:30-9:30 pm. No conflicts are permitted during tech week. PERFORMANCES: THURSDAY: January 16th @ 7 pm FRIDAY: January 17th @ 7 pm SATURDAY: January 18th @ 2 pm & 7 pm SUNDAY: January 19th @ 3 pm *Love Notes @ 12:30 / Strike immediately following final show. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Costumes are provided by Genesis. Supplemental items & shoes from your wardrobe. Students are required to be present at all rehearsals and shows. Please do not schedule any appointments or events for your student during this rehearsal period. Please send a snack, a personal water bottle, and pencil each day to rehearsal. Please help your student at home to memorize their lines. Tickets will be available online
