Description
Learn basic hockey skills and strengthen existing skating skills in a fun introductory program for those who haven't joined a league. Weekly classes conclude with an informal, non-contact scrimmage.
Prerequisite: Completion of Child Level 2 or by drop in assessment during public skates. Must be able to skate with balance demonstrating the ability to move forward independently the width of the arena with control. Customer assessed during program to ensure their skill level aligns with program delivery.
Equipment: Program fee includes skates and helmet rentals, as well as stick and hockey gloves. Full gear not required.
Reminder:
- Arrive approx. 20 min prior to class to acquire and put on equipment
Equipment provided:
- Hockey stick and hockey gloves
- Skates and helmet rental included in program fee
Bring:
- CSA hockey helmet with face cage required if providing your own helmet
- Welcome to bring your own hockey stick and gloves
Helpful tips:
- This is a non parent participation program
- Allow adequate time prior to lessons to acquire and put on equipment
- Non plastic skates provide better learning
- Full hockey gear not required for program
