Get ready to party like it's 1985 with the Inaugural Franklin County Mullet Competition at the Rotary Independence Day Festival! Whether you're rocking a classic waterfall or a modern twist on the iconic 'do, come strut your stuff and show off your mullet mastery for a chance to win unique prizes and eternal bragging rights.
**Festival begins at 5pm, contest to take place onstage at 8:45pmGeneral Information: - You must pre-register as there will be limited registration during Independence Festival ONLY if spaces allow. - Contestants will meet at the Parks & Recreation tent starting at 8:00 PM. You will be given your contestant number and you will sign in. - All contestants must come to the festival dressed and ready for Pageant. There will be no changing area for you to use. - The decisions of the judges are final! No score sheets will be reviewed with parents or contestants. - No workshop will be held for this contest. - Parents/spectators must find a seat on field to watch. Kid’s division, parents may walk with their child across stage (optional).
How mullets are judged: Size (10 Points): The overall length, width, girth and density (fullness) of the hair. Quality (1 0 Points): The graduation, taper, angle and thickness hair; the precise grooming (fly away hairs), sheen and symmetry of the hair style. Style & Presentation ( 10 Points): Does the Mullet style fit the individual? Does it compliment the individuals overall style? These are considerations for the judges. How is the wearer of the mullet’s attitude, attention to the crowd, attire or overall look. Creativity (10 Points): Is the mullet a one of a kind do’? Have they done something fun and funky like added color, extensions, designs, etc. Showmanship (10 Points): During the day of competition you may earn up to 10 more points through dazzle, how you portray yourself and hairstyle. Through Costume, and stage presence.
The judges will be looking for individuals whose hairstyle reflects their hairs personality, individuals personality and costumes personality. Come dressed and ready to dazzle yourself across stage! Each competitor has the opportunity to earn up to 50 Points total, the highest points will win in each division. The participant with the highest points overall will be crowned the Franklin County Mullet Champion. Ties will be Determined during the competition by stage presence and audience help!
