7. Learn About Different Aspects of Running
Runners bring a wide array of knowledge on nutrition, time management and training. Use this opportunity to learn what works for other people to see if their techniques can be applied to your training and racing.
To do so, compare stats, times and gadgets. For example, what's your running partner's PR for 10K, half marathon or marathon? Was it their heart rate monitor that helped them train for that, or their schedule?
8. Anchor Your Program
It's easier to stay on track with training when someone else plans the runs. Most running clubs schedule at least two key workouts a week, usually one day of intervals and one session with a long run. With this already planned, you can be sure you're completing the important workouts and then squeeze the rest in when you have time.
