Join us January 1, 2025, at this annual SELL OUT 5K open to runners and walkers on New Year's Day for our FIRST CHANCE 5K of the year. This year we are hosting in downtown Safety Harbor in an out and back fully paved 5K on the water's edge of beatiful downtown Safety Harbor,.
Because the race is almost at capacity our host venue has moved from Southern Fresh to United Smokehouse 519 2nd Street South, Safety Harbor, FL 34695.
Parking is FREE downtown at and around United Smokehouse and race day check in opens at 9 a.m. Then at 9:45 Suzanne will walk all participants a qurter of a mile to our start/finish line at the marina. You'll be timed by Race Splitter Timing and the run/walk begins at 10 a.m.
Come back back to United Smokehouse for your free Mimosa at our post race party at 10:45 a.m. with BBQ and a full liquid cash bar featuring bloody Mary's, and fun trivia that will make you laugh all the way into the new year.
An email will be sent to all registrants the day before the 5K with your bib number assignment and arrival and parking instructions as we are permitted to host by the City of Safety Harbor.
Registration is open to the first 100 partiicipants. This means if your registration processes here on Active.com YOU ARE IN. If not please text 727-CAN-RACE to get on our waiting list. This is a very popular race for all New Year's Day enthusiasts and it's open to all ages and levels of ability. Register early to secure your space.

Your registration includes your choice of our best finisher's medals from 2024 and 2025, a tech race shirt, and a timed 5K and a free drink back at Sounther Fresh for our post race trivia party which will last into the afternoon.
Though everyone receives an awesome finisher's medal, we do not give age group awards so that we can focus on the PARTY! However, we will present a top finishers framed award to the first fifteen males and for fifteen females to come across the finish line. Race results are not posted on race day. But you can look them up later when you get home to see how you fared against our great deal nearest day crowd at www.727canrace.com
