OVERVIEW The 2021 Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR, & AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion a valid two year digital certificate for Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR, & AED is issued.
COMPLETING THIS COURSE WILL TEACH YOU -Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) -Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and use of an Automated External Defibrillator -Recognize and provide care for choking using the back blow and abdominal thrust methods -Recognize and provide care for common sudden illnesses including asthma attack, anaphylaxis, and opioid overdose -Recognize and provide care for life-threatening bleeding using direct pressure and a tourniquet -Recognize and respond to common injuries, including head, neck, and spinal, injuries -Recognize and respond to environmental injuries, including heat stroke, hypothermia, and poison exposure
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR This course is designed for students that desire to have the knowledge and skills necessary to give immediate care to an injured or ill person, and those who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace and/or other regulatory requirements.
