Description
This class prepares participants for an excursion to the Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach. Children and adults will learn the differences between moths and butterflies, the parts of a butterfly, their life cycle, and migration patterns. This fun, interactive class includes hands-on projects to take home.
Participants are encouraged to attend this class before visiting the Grove.NOTE: Each individual family member needs to be registered in order to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The California Department of Parks and Recreation and the City of Santa Maria are offering the Santa Maria Outdoor Recreation Experience (SMORE) as a way to encourage community members to explore the great outdoors. This grant funding provides free environmental education classes for children and adults at the Buena Vista Park Cabin.
