Description
Are you interested in a “Fall Bake-Off”? Let’s see all those talented amateur bakers put their fall flavors to the test. Pies, cookies, cobblers, etc. You’re invited to display your dessert at the Scotts Valley Fall Festival.
Guests will purchase tickets to test your dishes, judges will sample all the desserts and winners will be announced during the festival.

Competitors arrive at 11:00am Festival begins at 12:00am Judging begins at 12:30pm Winners announce around 2:00pm
Rules:
- Only one submission per person, competitor must be an individual, not a company
- The contest is open to kids, teens, and adults of all ages. Amateur bakers only. Professional bakers cannot compete. A professional is defined as someone who works for a bakery, works for or owns a catering company, or someone who sells pies.
- Desserts must be homemade from scratch. Bakers may not use store-bought crust or pie filling.
- Pre-Registration required! Registration is online only (Deadline Nov. 1st). No in-person registration.
- Sweet, dessert items only. No Savory Dessert must include a fall ingredient (ex: pumpkin, apple, spice, pecans, etc)
- Each competitor must provide: table, linen, display sign, (1) full dessert for display only and additional dessert(s) to serve to guests, disposal small cups/plates/cutlery to serve your dessert at the festival.
- Display sign is required at your table with title, description of dessert, who baked the item and list any special dietary restrictions. Ex: Gluten Free, Vegan, Nuts, etc.
- Special handling, i.e. refrigeration and heating, is not allowed
- A spectator must present a taste ticket to receive a two (2) ounce sample of your dessert
- There is NO ELECTRICITY available.
- Decorations for your booth and cooking area are encouraged.
- Judging Criteria: General Appearance: 25% Originality: 25% Flavor: 50%
