About this event
Activity Organizer: Rose Institute Email: rosedebate@gmail.com Dates: Wednesdays Grades: 2-3 Cost: $550 Description: This introductory public speaking program helps students practice the fundamentals that every child needs in order to communicate effectively — whether on the playground, in a classroom, or on the stage. Some of the skills students in this club will practice are: ● Posture ● Speaking clearly and with expressiveness ● Making conversation The program rotates to a new focus roughly every 10 weeks. Each term features a mini-presentation halfway through the term and ends with a creative project and presentation. The program requires some basic reading/writing skills, although for younger students we focus on in-class activities rather than handouts or written assignments. In the past, some of our themes have been: ● Building Blocks of Public Speaking ● The Dramatic Arts ● Interpersonal Communication
