About this event
This event is snow-dependent! While we are hoping to get our winter season started on December 16th, if trails are not snowy enough will we have to cancel. NO RSVP NEEDED- JUST SHOW UP! Mere steps away from the top of the Gondola, join a Yampatika Naturalist on the green run "Why Not." Depending on the day, you could see old bear dens and claw marks, porcupine hang-out spots, and snow cameras! Along the way, you’ll learn about elk, moose, and the colorful birds that call the Steamboat Ski Resort home. Location: Mount Werner Ski Area, at the large trail map sign at the top of the "Why Not" trail (across the field from Thunderhead Lodge). What time and how long is the tour: Meet at 1:30 pm, and the tour typically lasts between 45-60 minutes, leave whenever you'd like. Cost: FREE thanks to the Steamboat Ski Resort Corporation - lift ticket NOT included, no rental equipment available. Why Not is a green cat-track run, basic skills are needed, snowboarders we will let you know to keep your speed up on the one 'flat' spot.
