"Are you an avid writer? Do you long to write your own book someday? Join Creative Writing Club! This small community of writers will come together to support each other and engage in fun projects to get our creative juices flowing. We will write creative stories, going through the processes of worldbuilding, character creation, and plotting, play writing games, and write fun new types of poetry. Writers of any level are welcome, just be ready to write! (Snacks and notebooks will be provided). Tentative Schedule: Session 1: The Writer's Toolbox Discuss the writing process and learn tips and tricks to help you brainstorm, unlock your creativity, and bring your writing to the next level. We will also talk about the writer's craft and how to go about getting published! Session 2: Worldbuilding Come up with an idea and create a world all your own to set your story in. Session 3: Character Creation An intensive character-building workshop where you will develop strong characters with depth. Session 4: The Plot Thickens Learn how to plot out a story and create problems that bring your characters and message to life! Session 5: Drafting Day We will have a ""Write-In"" where we all write as much as possible using our plans from the previous 4 sessions to create something amazing, then share our hard work at the end. Bring your own mug to enjoy some tea or hot chocolate. Session 6: Poetry Palooza (or more drafting, if you'd prefer) We will learn fun and creative new forms of poetry to express ourselves with, OR, if you're exclusively a prose writer, take advantage of an extra day to flesh out your story! We will end with a celebration of our writing and each share one of our favorite things we've written or learned."
