About this event
Join us on a storytelling mission to learn the myths, legends, and lore of the sea such as the Kraken, Atlantis, and the Bermuda Triangle. Take a look into famous literary stories such as Moby Dick. Be inspired by the tales of famous historical figures such as a Coast Guard crew who beat the odds to save the crew of a doomed oil tanker in a horrible storm on the Atlantic. While we learn the history, legends, and lore, we will also incorporate some elements of Oceanography to see how science is reflected or demonstrated in these stories. This class will be mostly storytelling and discussion, with minimal hands-on projects. No writing or reading required - simply come prepared to be inspired, hypothesize mysteries, and discuss famous sea faring stories. $40 deducted from allotment.
