Online 3D Design with Emphasis on the use of Paper Clayw/Jerry BennettAn online twelve (12) session course1 PM to 3 PM WednesdaysNo class on 11/27This internet course will focus on three-dimensional design elements emphasizing the use of Paper Clay. We will talk about Paper Clay, its use, and its benefit for students to expand their understanding of the design opportunities the material affords. We will learn about paper clay, and students will have access to and be presented with practical information about the process and materials. We will then look at historical and contemporary ceramic artists and discuss 3D Design and the use of clay to further artistic intent. The goal of the class is to move students toward fully realizing their voices with critique, emphasizing thinking and exchanging ideas about Art.
About Jerry Bennett: Jerry is a key figure in the exploding field of paper clay. His work is in many galleries and museums throughout the world. Bennett was a resident artist at the Philadelphia Clay Studio for five years. He received his MFA from Indiana University at Bloomington Indiana. Bennett has given workshops and lectures at over fifty colleges, schools, and art centers throughout the United States. In 2005, he was an honored guest at the first International Paper Clay Symposium in Kecskemet, Hungary. In 2012 he was the leader of the Second International Paper Symposium in Kecskemet, Hungary. He is currently an active studio artist in Philadelphia, teaching locally, and running the Two Rivers Studio.

If you would like your pieces fired at the Wayne Art Center Ceramic Studio, you must use clay from Wayne Art Center.
