Girls in grades 1-6 from all communities are invited to participate in our instructional volleyball league (ideal for beginners). In this 7 week league girls will learn all age appropriate aspects of the sport of volleyball such as serving, setting, returning, scoring, spiking and most importantly, good sportsmanship. Players will be assigned to teams based on skill level. Final team assignments will be made by the Community Education staff. No requests will be taken. The instructional league will have (1) one-hour practice per week (day/time determined by the coach), and will play 1-2 games on Saturdays. Players will not be allowed to switch teams due to practice day scheduling conflicts. Refunds will not be issued for scheduling conflicts. Practice could be held on any day Monday - Friday. Practices will begin the week of January 27th. Games will begin on February 1st and will end on March 15th. The registration fee includes the player's game day t-shirt. Due to the instructional nature of this league, there will be no tournament or awards given. Anyone wishing to volunteer to coach a team must submit an online volunteer application and complete the coaches google form preferably 2 weeks prior to the registration deadline. Coaches will be subject to a background check. If chosen, the head coach will be given one free player's registration and a matching game day shirt. There will be a virtual coaches meeting announced at a later date. APPROVED HEAD COACHES WILL NEED TO CALL OR EMAIL FOR A ONE TIME USE REGISTRATION COUPON CODE. Location and dates of league/games are subject to change based on gym availability for the district.
