Description
Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements. 7 Hours of eLearning required to be completed prior to the first class meeting.
Please bring a swimsuit and towel with you to class. Participants that do not successfully complete the class prerequisites will be dismissed from the class and a refund will not be provided.
This is a BLENDED LEARNING class. Participants will be expected to complete a 7-hour online portion prior to attending the first class. Class times are as follows: Friday 5p-8p, Saturday 9 a-6p, Sunday 9 a-5p.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements outlined below. 7 Hours of eLearning required to be completed prior to the first-class meeting and information will be emailed to participants a week before the class begins.Class prerequisites will be tested at the first-class meeting and include a 200-yard swim (front or breaststroke), 20-yard and 7ft dive brick retrievals, and 2 minutes of treading water (using only legs). Please bring a swimsuit and towel with you to class. Participants that do not successfully complete the class prerequisites will be dismissed from the class and a refund will not be provided.
