Colin Phelan is an author, outdoorsman, and educator who currently lives between Boston, where he teaches high school history, and New Delhi, where he works on a Fulbright-Nehru grant. Published in 2022, Colin’s debut book The Local School documents his experiences and historical research in India, where he has lived on several grants.
Colin is also a passionate outdoorsman and enthusiast of an active lifestyle. He is a practicing Wilderness First Responder who has worked for LL Bean and has served as a field guide for many types of outdoor adventures. In addition, Colin has raced several trail marathons and finds relaxation through movement.
Through the outdoors and an active lifestyle, Colin hopes to develop both his own and others' independence, courage, and self-sufficiency skills.
