About this event
Bird Walk Field Trip for 22 4th graders from Zion Lutheran Wednesday, April 30th 9:00a-1:30p Barr Lake is home to a variety of birds including colorful warblers, feisty flycatchers, grassland sparrows, and mighty Bald Eagles. On this field trip, students will explore this dynamic wildlife oasis just outside Denver and learn how and why nearly 80 different species of birds are able to coexist using different parts of this ecosystem. Students will learn how to use binoculars and field guides, while educators teach about bird adaptations, habitat needs and the successful recovery of the once-endangered Bald Eagle. More importantly, students will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty that can be found right in their backyard! This field trip will begin at the Barr Lake State Park Nature Center, we'll pause for lunch after a walk around the Niedrach trail, then head over to Bird Conservancy's learning center for a visit to the western Bald Eagle nest. *We will cover the cost of any parents without Keep Colorado Wild State Park passes*
