All cyclists memorize a mantra that's far more important than sock height and crisp tan lines: "Keep the rubber side down."

The following cyclists need to study up, however, because somewhere down the road something went wrong. And we couldn't enjoy it more. Barring huge Tour de France pileups, these 10 hilarious cycling fails are the best of the worst.

Tom Dumoulin is known for his world-class time trial ability, but during the 2017 Giro d'Italia, he became known for an entirely new talent: the roadside poo. Although both embarrassing and hilarious, Dumoulin owned up to it like a champ in his post-race interview.

There's nothing more hilarious than a well-timed faceplant—especially when the victim walks away unscathed. Technically a tricycling fail, this future World Tour star has learned about one very important phenomenon: gravity. Somebody just needs to teach her how to bunny hop.

Downhill mountain biking requires lightning-fast reflexes and the ability to switch off fear. Unfortunately, this crew came into a left-hander too hot, launching off the single track, heading into the bushes and then onto the field. The POV GoPro footage shows how dangerous it can be, but it sure is funny seeing hardcore mountain bikers fall out of the sky.

You would think the cast of Mythbusters would have a solid grasp on physics, but accident-prone Tory Belleci seems to ignore any semblance of caution on a regular basis. Pro Tip: Don't try to jump a wagon with a red beach cruiser. It does make for some great television, though.

A proper wheelie is always a crowd pleaser—just ask Peter Sagan. This unlucky cyclist pops an impressive wheelie, only to see his front wheel ride away from him. What are you supposed to do in this situation? We think he handles it pretty well by heading straight for the grass.

Friends don't let friends hit a rail without a spotter, but this attempt went bad for all parties involved. Hey, it would have been impressive if he stuck the landing, right? We bet the spotter shows up with a catcher's mask during his friend's next attempt.
