Your Local Security gathered data in a variety of categories to determine the safest cities in the U.S. for cyclists. Metrics used include fatal crashes, protected bike lanes, complete street law, safe passing law, spending per capita and more. The data was added together with various weights based on a 100-point scale for cities with a population of at least 20,000 people and data available for each of the categories.
