This course will consist of target engagement from 5m out to 300m, use of rifle slings (both for carry and for stability), optics selection, use of four general positions (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone), the employment of the snapshot and the use of improvised supports. Kit List: - Bolt action rifle capable of reaching out to 300m, (high recoil rifles such as magnums or 45/70 not recommended) o Alternatively, the shooter can bring a centerfire bolt action rifle for targets greater than 100m and a rimfire rifle for targets up to and including 100m. o Sighting system for rifle. Scopes including but not limited to LPVO or high-power scopes, Red Dots, Iron Sights are all acceptable. o 2 or 3 magazines, if applicable, bring a pouch so that 1 magazine can be stored on the body (belt, backpack, chest rig, etc.) - Rifle sling. Rifle sling is not restricted to any one type, but must be secure. - 300 rounds of ammo (at least 120rds for shooting 110m to 300m). Ammunition will be chrono graphed for a bullet drop chart. - Small backpack for use as a rifle rest, filled with rags for this purpose or everyday items - Hearing/eye protection - Extra batteries for hearing protection, optics, etc. - Hydration – water, etc. - Lunch/snacks - Notebook, pen/pencil *Optional equipment list will accompany confirmation email upon registration.
