Through western papermaking demos, facilitated inquiry based investigation and hands on studio time participants will have an opportunity to develop both foundational papermaking skills and experiment with papermaking processes including pulp painting, stenciling, collage and three dimensional forms. Learn how to create a watermark. Participants can expect to learn about different type of fibers for papermaking, resources and tools to create both small scale samples of various hand papermaking techniques as well as a small series of works that results with artistic exploration with the medium. Participants will additionally learn about cold wax finishes and have a chance to explore Encaustics and how to create colorful layered paste papers. This class is for all levels of experiences.
