About this event
Take your mountain biking to the next level while diving into the mechanics of bikes and the art of trail building! In partnership with Ottawa County Parks, this adventure-based camp is designed for kids entering grades 6th-10th who are ready to tackle advanced riding skills and gain hands-on experience with bike maintenance and trail stewardship. Separate advanced groups for girls and boys ensure a supportive environment for growth and exploration. What to Expect: In addition to refining riding skills like climbing steep hills, navigating technical terrain, and mastering shifting and body placement, campers will: • Learn Bike Mechanics: Understand how a bike works and gain skills in basic maintenance, including chain care, brake adjustments, and tire repairs. • Discover Trail Building: Learn what goes into designing and maintaining a trail and participate in building or enhancing a feature on a local trail. • Ride with Confidence: Continue developing advanced mountain biking techniques while exploring how to care for the equipment and trails that make the sport possible. This unique camp blends skill-building on the bike with a focus on stewardship and mechanics, giving campers a comprehensive mountain biking experience.
