Overview: This class is designed to create a welcoming environment specifically for immigrants and refugees. We ask that you only sign up for this course if you identify as either an immigrant or a refugee. In this class we use tools to build a useful planter box. You will learn how to measure parts, how to safely cut wood with a circular saw, and how to connect those pieces together with screws. Many of our students in this class are new English learners so we have more helpers for each student. We also have helpers who speak foreign languages. We use lots of pictures in our teaching. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission.
