Description

An introduction to basic quilting techniques. No previous quilting experience needed. A sewing machine and basic sewing machine skills are required. See online description for techniques taught and material list for table runner. Instructor is Theresa Hamel.
Techniques that will be taught include:1. Using a rotary cutter and cutting mat with quilt ruler. 2. Sewing an accurate, consistent ¼” seam.3. Making a quilted table runner.
Material list:1. Sewing machine, a ¼” foot is useful but not required. 2. Fabric (100% cotton): ½ yard background color, ½ yard main fabric, ¼ yard contrasting fabric. 1 yard for backing. 3. If you have it, a rotary cutter and mat. 4. If you have it, a small iron and pressing mat.
An iron and ironing board, rotary cutter and mat will be provided in the classroom.
