Description
Spring and summer are excellent months to get outside and look for Virginia’s most secretive wildlife: reptiles and amphibians, also known as herptiles. Join an environmental educator on a hike to discover what herptiles call our local forests home and learn all the tips and tricks needed to spend your summer "herpin.”
Program Information:-Program is held outdoors.-Limited field tools are available to borrow, bringing personal field tools is recommended. -Hiking footwear is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting. -Distance traveled will be between 1 and 1.5 miles.-Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include: paved trails, dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, and steep hills. -This program includes visual and tactile elements.
