LRA Gardening workshop offers students ample opportunities to walk, lift, carry, dig, plant, and rake, as well as practice balance and dexterity, all while participating in an enjoyable and engaging activity Programming is intended to have hands-on educational activity about gardening, soil, composting, seeds, insects, and other age-appropriate horticulture topics. Programs include make-and-take activities, demonstration, crafts, and fun! Come plants with us! Topics may include Garden cleanup Insect hotel Honey bee observation Sand box garden Worm Composting Seed bombs Veggie and herb garden Butterfly and humming bird garden Pond gardening providing plants for fish, frogs and turtles in the pond Students are recommended to wear long sleeves and pants as well as bring their own gardening gloves and sunscreen.
