Sam Houston Jones State Park

Grand Isle State Park
If you've never been beach camping before, pack your bags and head to the most popular barrier island in the Gulf of Louisiana, Grand Isle. Pitch your tent on the beach and fall asleep to the sounds of the surf.
When you're not relaxing on the beach, grab a pole and enjoy saltwater fishing. You can catch speckled trout all year long and redfish in the fall and winter. Don't worry if you're not a fan of fishing. You can canoe or paddle boat into the gulf for a day on the water.
